Dr. Mengyu Wang was awarded an NIH R21 Grant titled “Personalizing Circumpapillary Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness Norms for Glaucoma”. This project will construct personalized circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (cpRNFLT) norms by automatically adjusting for race-specific individual retinal anatomical features using retinal imaging data with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology, which will lead to more timely glaucoma diagnosis and treatment initiation reducing the risk of further vision loss leading to permanent blindness.
