Biography

Dr. Michael Morley is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon. He currently works in the MEEI Ophthalmology AI Lab on a variety of research projects. His interests include data science and bioinformatics, teaching, research, global health, healthcare management, quality improvement, and patient safety. His research interests include dementia, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, and chronic disease management.

Prior to joining MEEI Ophthalmology AI Lab, Dr. Morley was President and Medical Director of Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He was co-chair of the Statewide Expert Panel “Patient Safety in Cataract Surgery” with the Betsy Lehman Center, Boston, MA. He has a master’s in Health Care Management from Harvard School of Public Health. He has mentored more than 40 medical students interested in ophthalmology, global health, healthcare management, and data science/informatics.
