Biography

Next Position after Training Completion: Postdoctoral Researcher in Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University.

Carola Rutigliani is currently a research intern in the Harvard AI Ophthalmology Lab. She is a final year medical student from Vita Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. Carola’s primary areas of interest include diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and glaucoma.  

Carola has a strong research background. She has gained extensive research experience, particularly in basic research, having worked in multiple laboratories at various institutions, including Cambridge University, Karolinska University, and Institute Marie Curie. In the lab, her primary research focus lies in analyzing the correlation between retinal layer thickness and systemic disorders, while also employing a computational framework to quantify drusen in AMD.
