Biography
Titus Fidelis Wuermeling holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Science in Chemistry with a specialization in Instrumental Analytics and is currently completing two Master’s degrees in a double degree program. He is doing a Master of Science in Life Science in Chemical Engineering at the School of Life Science at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and a Master of Science in Chemistry at the University of Linköping in Sweden. To complete his studies, Mr. Wuermeling is writing his master’s thesis as a visiting student at the Harvard Ophthalmology AI Lab. The focus is on AI-supported anomaly detection in retina images and how he can transfer this knowledge to chemistry and chemical engineering applications in the field of pharmaceuticals. During his undergraduate and graduate studies, Mr. Wuermeling was and is most excited by the connection between data and pharmaceuticals. He also worked as a student assistant in Dr. Meinel’s laboratory for in vitro diagnostics and molecular bioanalytics at the FHNW, where he mainly investigated antibody-biomarker interactions and developed point-of-care devices in cooperation with other companies. Mr. Wuermeling is also volunteering at the Young Swiss Chemical Society, where he represents the School of Life Sciences at FHNW and is part of the management team of the Young Swiss Chemical Society Mentoring Program.
In his spare time, Titus focuses on amateur choir singing. He has sung in several choir projects and is a member of the student choir at Linköping University in Sweden.
