Biography

Dr. Yangjiani Li got her MD degree in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, one of the best-known ophthalmic healthcare and education centers in Asia. During her doctoral study, she conducted a clinical trial investigating trace metal elements’ concentration in aqueous humor of patients with and without primary glaucoma. She joined Dr. Elze’s lab as a postdoctoral research fellow in October 2019. Her research projects are the epidemiologic features of ocular diseases, the association of retinal structural changes in optical coherence tomography (OCT) with diabetic parameters in patients without diabetic retinopathy, the effects of magnification of OCT scans on retinal thickness measurements, and the norms of children’s retinal thickness.
